El Conquistador:

The coffee that started it all! We fell in love when we first had this wonderful Costa Rican bean. An absolute must have we have been able to build the majority of our client base on the strength of this product. Depending on the roast level, the winy flavor quality can taste more like ripe fruit than wine and is a soft muted flavor and there is chocolate throughout regardless of the roast level. Christopher Columbus, Cristobal Colon to us), discovered Costa Rica on his fourth, and final, voyage to the west. This of course, led to the extraordinary colonization of the new world by a tiny group of Spanish Higaldos. We thought it only fitting that a coffee that has conquered the European market for decades should be called 'El Conquistador'. Dota is a small sub-region of the Tarrazú valley, which is more remote than the areas where most of the coffee is planted. For years, this particular coffee, El Conquistador, went to a single roaster in Germany before being distributed throughout the world. Great Dota coffees are small sized seeds with great density due to the high altitudes they are cultivated in.
